A long drive with children can quickly turn into a nightmare ... unless you take some precautions.
A long car trip with a baby or child can quickly turn into a nightmare and make you regret having gone on vacation ... To avoid reaching such extremes, some precautions can be taken.
On the day of departure: listen to Bison Smart and avoid going on days announced as being "red" or "black". It's better to shorten your day-long vacation than to find yourself in the middle of 800 km of corks with a toddler who screams in the back for hours!
Departure time: If possible, travel at night or very early in the morning. You can bet that the loulous will take a nap and it's always won!
The itinerary: no way to go on an adventure with the children. Study the journey well so you do not lose yourself (and waste valuable time). If you have big children (from 6/7 years old) you can involve them in the preparation of the trip by showing them the route you will follow. You can photocopy the map to leave a copy so that they can also track your progress on the road for holidays.
Revision of the car: for safety reasons, give your car a small check up before leaving. She deserves it and above all you deserve not to crash on the highway because you have failed to check the oil level.
Refueling: when traveling by car, forget all your good dietary principles. Sweets, cakes, yogurts to drink, compotes, baby bottles ... Whatever the age of your little travelers, we are always more serene belly full!
Survival kit: water, cleaning wipes, toilet paper, fogger, diapers and baby toiletries, change trendy baby clothes for each toddler, a small emergency medical kit, pacifier clip, spare teats, the blanket ... Keep it all at hand to prevent any eventuality.
Entertainment: with the older ones, a DVD (or two!) Will pass the time. Some games (Guess what I think ...) will fill the boredom. For the little ones, it is better to provide a bag of toys which you will reveal the content only gradually, to spare your little surprise and maintain the attention of your little one.
By not forgetting a relaxing and recreational break every two hours, you should be unhurt.
