THE NEWBORN BABY'S HICCUP

First of all be calm, at least 80% of newborn babies frighten their parents with some sound. Hiccup is one of those sounds and although the hiccup is something that if it gives to a person of child or great it is funny, it is not the same thing when it gives even a baby. First parents, especially, any little thing alarms them. The hiccup although we think this bothering our small and fragile baby is harmless and in the same way that appears disappears in feeding in the room with cartoon jungle animals, does not demand a treatment we just have to wait.

Causes of baby's hiccups
It can arise from an incorrect breastfeeding where the baby in baby jumpsuits sucks air in addition to milk, too much food intake, rapid water intake or even a change in temperature.

How to prevent hiccups in babies
Hypo does not tend to last long in infants, so the famous techniques of scaring it, drinking water quickly, holding your breath, etc. Are not applicable for a baby. In fact there is no definitive formula or technique to remove hiccups for an adult or a newborn baby.

What we can do is avoid certain actions that cause hiccups in the newborn:
- A baby is more likely to have hiccups if he or she is swallowing air while being breastfed. In this case, the mother should stop breastfeeding. After a few minutes, you should restart your work to breastfeed, but taking care to avoid the ingress of air.
- The same should be done by the mother if she notices that the baby suckles quickly. Stop breastfeeding, let the baby rest a little, and replace it.
- After breastfeeding your baby, do not forget to leave it upright to facilitate the removal of air.
- Temperature changes can also cause hiccups. To prevent this from happening, always try to change your baby in a drafty environment, and warmly sheltered. Before we forget, parents should seek medical advice only in cases where the baby's hiccup does not go away, and eventually causes crying on the part of the baby.
